Donate to the Groveland Food Shelf
Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope

There are many reasons for donating funds to the Groveland Emergency Food Shelf. Not only are you helping families and individuals in need of food, your contribution is maximized to positively impact as many people as possible.
Plus during Give to the Max (Nov 1-20, 2025) the first $16,000 will be matched by a grant from the Groveland Board and donors Ben Hulse and Maureen Sheehan.

$35 buys 15 dozen eggs (which we give out in ½ doz units)

$50 buys emergency groceries for a family of 2 for one month
$100 buys emergency groceries for a family of 4 for one month
$300 buys fresh meat for one day for all guests who want meat

Donate Food
In addition to monetary donations, we also welcome food donations however as we have a small space it's important to have the food sorted into bags/boxes of like items before you deliver to us.

Food to Donate
Currently ( Sept 2025) it's best if you can collect A LOT of one item (see list below) so everyone shopping that day can have one. We can serve over 200 guests daily. The current hot items are ramen, coffee, small bottles (16-24 oz) cooking oil, pop-top canned meats and fish, 16 oz peanut butter, and breakfast cereal. Even if you can't get that many of one item - never fear we can combine your donation with that of others collecting the same item

How to Donate Food
If you would like to donate food, please complete the CONTACT US form letting us know what you have, how much, and when you might want to drop it off. We will contact you to arrange a time if you have a large donation. Give us at least 3 days to respond to you. Please sort your food by type and mark the type on the outside of the box/bag. This makes it easier for us to stock the shelves with our limited space and staff.
If you would like to hold a food donation drive through your organization or employer, please complete the CONTACT US form and we will reach out to you with guidance and directions. Unfortunately we do not have donation bins or barrels to provide for drives.

Smaller food donations (up to 6 grocery bags) can be dropped off Tuesday or Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 1p.m.

Groveland also has numerous relationships with local grocery stores, restaurants and bakeries to pick up unsold or excess food. Occasionally these organizations conduct drives on our behalf as well. If you would like to learn more about this program, please contact info@grovelandfoodshelf.org
